Sessional Instructor: Music Theory Part-Time, Sessional POSITION SUMMARY The Faculty of Arts at The King’s University is seeking a Sessional Instructor(s) in Music Theory for the 2026-27 academic year. Candidates are welcome to apply for an individual course, or both listed courses. The courses each consist of 3- hours of lecture each week. The schedule will depend on the availability of the instructor. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS Fall 2026 MUSI 266 - Tonal Harmony 2 Topics include harmonic progression, three- and four-part voice-leading, non-chord tones and an introduction to phrase structure. Winter 2027 MUSI 216 – Tonal Harmony 1 Topics include seventh chords, secondary functions, modulation, mode mixture and large forms.
