Opportunity
MacEwan University Griffins Athletics is seeking a Mascot Performer to wear the Griff the Griffin mascot costume at MacEwan Griffins home games and university events. This opportunity runs from September to March as a casual part time position and requires evening and weekend work.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are outgoing, energetic, and love to put on a show in front of hundreds of fans and want to help create school spirit around MacEwan!
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing as Griff the Griffin and embodying the character during MacEwan Griffins home games, community events, and university appearances;
- Engaging with all Griffins fans and MacEwan students attending games by taking pictures with fans and/or handing out swag in stands;
- Entertaining fans at home games with sideline antics and crowd engaging chants; and
- Participating in in-game contests and/or skits.
Skills
You will have:
- Excellent time management and punctuality;
- Outgoing personality with the ability to work well in a team environment; and
- Clear communication.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma.
- Experience in mascot performing would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of soccer, volleyball, basketball, and hockey would be considered an asset.
- All skill levels are welcome, and on-the-job training can be provided.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position Requirements
- This position is on campus only.
- The ability to work all shifts between Thursday to Sunday afternoons and evenings.
